So how do we do this in a blog?  Well, I ask a question, and then you post the answer in your blog (linking back to my question) then in the same post come up with a question of your own.  So then someone can follow the links back to find the question for the answer they just read.  If there are already trackbacks then follow those to find someone who’s question hasn’t been answered yet, and you can link to and answer that one.
My question for you:

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

I got Shel to sign my copy of Naked Conversations, which is really cool for me. I really like collecting signed books. We had great pizza at Flying Pie – they are so passionate about pizza, and for good reason – they make the best I’ve had. We have a pizza party in my office at least once a month, and it is usually Flying Pie.

One thing about Flying Pie is they have a 170+ pound foil ball. They are going for the world record, and even have a tracking number from Guinness. This really cool foil ball is made from donated foil and foil resulting from the operation of their restaurant. The foil ball has a name, Flora, and a blog.

I had the opportunity to meet a lot of really cool Boise bloggers. If I were to try to list them I would certainly miss a few. Hopefully this dinner we become a regular Boise event. Maybe we can bring Shel back again.
While we were talking Shel mentioned that his speaking engagement was in the AM, but his flight wasn’t until late, so I asked if he would be open to coming by my work and talking to our VP about internal blogging at Washington Group International. More on this later.

I plan to be there. Shel is in town as a speaker for the Public Relations Society of America on Tuesday May 16th. The dinner will be Monday, May 15th. He posted to his blog looking for bloggers to dine with on March 10th, but I was busy with Boise Code Camp and didn’t notice. Luckly he posted again and then Steve Nipper sent me a message. Steve is a local patent attorney in Boise and will also be joining Shel for dinner. Sounds like fun! If you are a blogger in Boise be sure to join us!

Robert Scoble is the other author of Naked Conversations. He linked to my BSDG blog when I posted about PDC, and then I met him at PDC 2005. I look forward to meeting Shel. Maybe I will get him to autograph my book. For some reason I am really into autographed books.

Blogger is a good package, but WordPress is much better. I would highly recommend starting with WordPress since migrating is a little trouble.

WordPress comes with an importer, but the trick is keeping all the old links from breaking. This is like my 5th blog migrated from Blogger to WordPress. The first few were with WordPress 1.5. This one is WordPress 2.0, which is a much nicer package. The importer is improved too. I’ll post my .htaccess eventually so you can see how to make all your link work (with a little tweaking no doubt).

There will be some theme changes no doubt in the near future. I don’t think I have my RSS feed lined up yet either. Will do that later. Going to sleep now.
